Responsibilities:
- Feeding and watering the herd according to schedule
- Vaccinating animals and administering medication according to protocol
- Monitoring the herd for signs of illness
- Assisting with calving and performing artificial insemination
- Recording of data in the breeding and gestation area
- Performing 21-day heat checking and 35-day and 56-day pregnancy checking
- Marketing our animals, transporting sales stock
- Baling hay or harvesting other forage for use as feed and maintaining farm equipment
- Maintaining facilities and managing waste
Requirements:
- College degree in agricultural/animal husbandry sector
- Valid driver's license
- Proficient in operating a skid steer, tractor and other farm equipment
Terms of Employment:
- Full time, permanent position
- Monday to Friday, three evenings per week and weekends during calving season
